Auto Body Dents

Everywhere! So what's to be done to restore your car's metal surfaces back to the way they looked before the hailstorm? The amount and characteristics of the damage will dictate the nature of the repairs. If the pits and valleys are literally everywhere on a particular part (hood, trunk, etc.), your car may require a panel replacement. We will, of course, then need to coat the new part(s) with paint that matches the rest of your auto. Severe denting or dents that have damaged (stretched or removed) the paint will likely call for traditional dent repair. This will entail a process of filling and sanding in layers until the valleys are even with the metal and there is no break between the two. Then all repaired surfaces will need to be painted to match the remainder of the vehicle. If the dents are less severe--perhaps the storm wasn't catastrophic and there are only a few minor valleys here and there with paint intact--your car may be a candidate for paintless dent removal. If so, our collision specialists can use special tools to bring the metal out to its original position without bonding or painting.

Chipped and Cracked Glass

Chips, cracks, or shattering. Everywhere! So what can be done about the condition of your vehicle's glass? As with dents, the degree and nature of damage will dictate the route we take toward auto glass repair. Windows typically need replacing if they're damaged, but there are several possibilities for the windshields. If the issues are severe, we will need to replace the windshield. If there are more minor injuries to the glass, we may be able to employ the chip repair method. Generally, we are able to fill chips if they are no larger than a quarter or if there are no more than three. (Divots, smooth indentations without "starring" in the glass, cannot be filled.) Likewise, we can take care of cracks less than six inches in length. Numerous cracks shouldn't be filled, nor should blemishes be corrected if they are in the driver's line of sight.
